National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue leaves for official visit to Cambodia
The official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia by the National Assembly Chairman aims to promote the relationship of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability” between the two countries to become deeper, more practical and more effective.

At the invitation of President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, President of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Samdech Heng Samrin, on the morning of November 19, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue led a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly to start an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia and attend the 43rd General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-43) from November 19 to November 22.
The delegation included members of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh; Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong; Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha; Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh; Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee, Senior Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi; Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan; Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Phu Yen Province Pham Dai Duong.
The official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia aims to promote the relationship of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability” between the two countries to become more in-depth, practical and effective. Discussing the direction of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries in the coming time both within the bilateral and multilateral frameworks; exchanging opinions on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
In Cambodia, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly will attend the 43rd General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-43). The main theme of the AIPA-43 General Assembly is “Advancing Together for a Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable ASEAN”.
Accordingly, the General Assembly will focus on discussing issues on: Peace, security, multilateralism and the central role of ASEAN; Strengthening parliamentary diplomacy on maritime security, promoting regional stability in Southeast Asia; Promoting parliamentary cooperation for inclusive and sustainable economic growth through an integrated approach of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria; Enhancing capacity for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in digital transformation and promoting tourism and economic recovery; Enhancing digital transformation to protect comprehensive society; Enhancing social health protection to address challenges in ASEAN; Gender equality and women's empowerment for a sustainable, inclusive and resilient recovery after COVID-19; Enhancing the role of female parliamentarians in promoting the agenda on women, peace and security; Promoting youth participation for a prosperous and sustainable ASEAN community./.
