Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulates Russian President Putin on his inauguration

When asked by TASS to comment on Putin's inauguration, the diplomat said: "China congratulates President Putin on his inauguration. Chinese leader Xi Jinping previously sent a letter to President Putin, congratulating him on his re-election. We believe that under President Putin, Russia will continue to achieve new results in state building, economic and social development."

This is the fifth time Mr. Putin has been inaugurated as President of Russia. His inauguration ceremony took place on May 7. Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov told TASS that Mr. Putin's first foreign visit as the newly inaugurated president will be to China.

Earlier the same day, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel also congratulated Vladimir Putin on his inauguration as Russian President for another term.

“On behalf of the Party, the Government and the People of Cuba, we welcome the inauguration of our dear friend Vladimir Putin as President of Russia for another term after his re-election with 87.28% of the vote in the March elections, which had a record high turnout,” he wrote on social network X.

The Cuban president visited Moscow on May 7. Earlier, Mr. Diaz-Canel said he planned to discuss with Mr. Putin the top priority issues on the bilateral agenda.

Meanwhile, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro also congratulated Vladimir Putin on his inauguration as president and wished the Russian people development and prosperity.

“On behalf of the Venezuelan people, I congratulate Vladimir Putin, who has been sworn in as president for the fifth time,” Maduro wrote on social network X.

He said he "respects and admires the Russian people, who are resolutely moving forward on the path of unity and peace".

He wished the Russian people “further development and prosperity” under Mr. Putin's leadership.

In addition, many leaders of many other countries also congratulated Mr. Putin on this important event.
