This APEC conference will take place in Manila, Philippines from November 17-19 with the participation of APEC members, including the US, China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Canada.

China's Foreign Ministry said Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit the Philippines on November 10 to discuss preparations for President Xi Jinping's visit and ways to improve Beijing's relations with Manila.

"At present, we are all clear about the reasons that have led to the obstacles in China-Philippines relations. This is something that China does not want... China attaches great importance to its relations with the Philippines and is willing to properly resolve relevant issues on the basis of dialogue and negotiation," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said at a regular press conference.

At the end of October, the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) of the United Nations in The Hague, Netherlands agreed to hear the Philippines' lawsuit regarding China's "nine-dash line" claim, but China announced that it would not accept participation in the lawsuit and the arbitration court's ruling.

Before arriving in Manila to attend the APEC Summit, President Xi Jinping will attend the G20 summit in Türkiye, the Chinese Foreign Ministry added.
