Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Duc Phoc works with Nghe An Pedagogical College

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, November 14, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and branches worked with Nghe An College of Education on the school's development orientation for the period 2012-2015. Also attending was comrade To Hong Hai - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.
Comrade Ho Duc Phoc commented on the school's recommendations.
Nghe An Pedagogical College was established in 1959, with the mission of training and fostering managers, teachers, preschool, primary and secondary school levels with college degrees; linking training in non-pedagogical professions; training and fostering Vietnamese language programs for students and officials of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The school currently has a training scale of nearly 5,000 students each year, with 17 training majors (including 12 pedagogical majors, 5 non-pedagogical majors). The staff and lecturers have professional qualifications that meet or exceed the standard (61 main lecturers, 6 PhDs, 4 postgraduates and 155 masters); the school's facilities are invested in a synchronous and modern direction with full classrooms, professional rooms and functional rooms to meet the requirements of teaching and learning.
At the meeting, the school's leaders proposed to the Provincial People's Committee the following issues: The province should invest in upgrading the school to a University of Education, with the goal of being recognized by the Government as a University by the 2016-2017 school year at the latest; Requesting approval to establish a pedagogical practice school under Nghe An College of Education; Requesting adjustments to the overall planning for school construction until 2020.
Comrade Ho Duc Phoc presented flowers to congratulate the school on Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
Regarding the school's proposals, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Duc Phoc has the following opinions: agree to let the school build a communal dining hall; support the school to upgrade some items and works; agree with the project to develop the school into a university, however, the school must invest in improving the quality of the team, strengthen the spirit of collaboration and solidarity, build facilities to meet the teaching requirements for university level to improve quality, on the basis that pedagogy is the key industry. After completing all the conditions, a project to upgrade the school into a university will be established. Regarding the establishment of a pedagogical practice school, there needs to be careful discussion and consideration to make appropriate decisions, avoiding haste and haste leading to unnecessary waste.
Also this morning, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee, comrade Ho Duc Phoc presented flowers to congratulate all teachers and staff of the school on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.
