(Baonghean) -Vocational training and new job creation to reduce the gender gap in the economic field, increase access for poor women in rural areas and ethnic minority women have recently been given great attention by departments, branches and organizations in our province..

In 2011 alone, the province created new jobs for 35,000 women, accounting for 49%, provided vocational training for more than 84,000 people, of which women accounted for 45%; exported labor for more than 13,000 people, of which women accounted for 45%.

In addition, the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women has coordinated with relevant sectors to promote the creation of favorable conditions for women to borrow capital to create jobs, develop craft villages, and apply science and technology to cultivation and animal husbandry.

Up to now, 100% of women in poor rural areas and ethnic minority areas have received preferential loans from employment and poverty reduction programs and other credit sources. Thanks to that, women's lives have become better and better, many good female entrepreneurs have appeared, women are confident in taking control of their lives, and have economic equality, contributing to reducing the poverty rate of the whole province in 2011 to 18.87%.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai (Hamlet 2, Hung Tan, Hung Nguyen) applies science and technology to livestock farming, bringing in high income.

As one of the districts with many good practices, the Committee for the Advancement of Women in Hung Nguyen district has coordinated with departments and branches, especially the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs - the standing agency of the Committee to effectively implement the set targets. The Committee has effectively maintained the connection between the Social Policy Bank and mass organizations to create conditions for poor women to borrow capital. In 2011 alone, there were 104 loan groups with 3,843 households with a total outstanding debt of 51,948 billion VND. In addition, the charity fund has mobilized capital for 1,700 women to borrow, bringing the total outstanding debt by the end of 2011 to 20 billion VND. Ensuring that 98% of women in need can borrow capital from programs to create jobs and reduce poverty.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong - Deputy Head of the District Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Standing Member of the District Committee for the Advancement of Women, said: To help women be equal with men in accessing science and technology, the Committee has coordinated with sectors and levels to organize training courses on science and technology knowledge, agricultural extension, forestry extension, and fishery extension for women. In 2011, 11 classes were opened, attracting 363 members, of which women accounted for 73%, mainly focusing on occupations such as veterinary animal husbandry, pig farming, industrial sewing, chrysanthemum growing... In 2011, the whole district had 2,800 workers trained in vocational skills, of which women accounted for 45%. New jobs were created for 2,700 workers, of which 1,295 were women, accounting for 47.96%. Of the 800 workers going to work abroad, 341 were women, accounting for 42.62%.

From short-term training courses (2-3 months/class), women have learned how to apply the knowledge they have learned to livestock and crop farming, contributing to the growing economic development of their households. A typical example is Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai (born in 1976) in Hamlet 2, Hung Tan Commune. Previously, when she had not yet had access to science and technology, Ms. Hai only dared to raise 2-3 sows. After attending a short-term training course on pig care and aquaculture, Ms. Hai confidently discussed with her husband about expanding the scale of herd care and digging ponds for fish farming. Up to now, Ms. Hai's family has a whole pig farm with hundreds of pigs, 7 sows that give birth to over 20 litters each year, over 4,000 m2 of fish ponds, plus the job of purchasing milled rice for restaurants in Vinh City, each year Ms. Hai earns a net profit of over 100 million VND.

It is known that in 2011, the Women's Union and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs signed a vocational training and job introduction program for women in rural and mountainous areas for the period 2011 - 2015. This is a joint program between the General Department of Vocational Training, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.Male. In the past time, the Women's Union and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs have coordinated to organize 13 training courses on knowledge related to vocational training for 115 leaders at district, city and town levels and nearly 720 grassroots officials. Each year, the Vocational Training Center of the Provincial Women's Union has opened 1-2 vocational training classes for rural women and poor women from the budget of national target programs through the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Promoting the achieved results, in the period of 2011 - 2015, with the motto of increasing the proportion of female workers receiving vocational training to have stable jobs, reducing the gender gap in the economic, labor and employment fields, contributing to improving the quality of life, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Women's Union will train 400 - 500 students/year, mainly female workers, and at the same time open training classes and seminars to share information, improve the capacity and qualifications of union officials, and coordinate to implement vocational training policies and guidelines, creating stable jobs for female workers, especially female workers in rural and mountainous areas.
