The journey of creativity and passion

In 2005, the Corporation officially operated as a joint stock company and no longer had state capital; in 2007, it became a member of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC). Recognizing the importance of human resources, the Board of Directors pays special attention to planning and training skilled technical staff and workers, attracting talented people with sufficient capacity and intelligence to effectively implement projects to ensure the production and business plans of the Corporation.

In 2008, 2009 and 2010, PVNC cooperated with experts with extensive experience in project management and construction of large projects such as: Dung Quat Polypropylene Plastic Factory, Nghe An Petroleum Building, Project to change technology and add equipment to increase the capacity of the 12/9 Petroleum Cement Factory to 1,500 tons of clinker/day... To ensure human resources for production and business activities, in addition to attracting experienced experts, the Corporation also boldly rejuvenated its human resources by recruiting excellent and excellent graduates from universities with good training quality, such as: University of Construction, National Economics University, University of Science and Technology, Vinh University... In 2009 and 2010, PVNC recruited 1 PhD, 5 Masters in construction who studied abroad in France, England, Russia... and 115 experienced specialized engineers from 5 years or more; especially officers and engineers who have experience working at large corporations and general companies with a long history in construction and investment, including 14 excellent graduates.

To date, the Corporation has more than 1,600 employees and nearly 600 skilled workers with regular labor contracts. Of these, there are 465 officers and engineers with university and post-graduate degrees, 676 highly skilled workers fully equipped with advanced construction equipment. With the strategy of rejuvenating the staff, PVNC has boldly appointed many young and capable officers to take on key positions in the Corporation as well as in its member units.

After only 3 years of joining the "big family" of Petro Vietnam, PVNC has exceeded its 2010 production and business plan: revenue reached 891.19 billion VND (up 1,350% compared to 2007); profit reached 100.91 billion VND (up 4,204% compared to 2007); budget contribution was 77.3 billion VND (up 540% compared to 2007); workers' lives have been constantly improved (average income of workers in 2007 was 1.4 million VND/month, increased to 4.5 million VND/month in 2010).

Ideal environment for intelligence and dynamism

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Bang - General Director of PVNC said: With the motto "people are the most valuable asset of the enterprise", the combined strength of solidarity and cooperation in work for development, the Corporation has many new policies in human resource training.

From 2008 to 2010, the Corporation focused on training to improve the capacity of employees with a budget of nearly 3 billion VND. Of which, 145 officers and engineers attended classes on: business management, project management, classes on professional work of the Youth Union, Trade Union, Emulation and Reward training organized by PVN and PVC at Hanoi National University, the School of Personnel Management of the Ministry of Construction,... Coordinated and linked with vocational training schools in and outside the province to open 30 classes for 651 officers, engineers, and workers to study courses on Technical English, Acceptance and settlement of construction works, Labor, salary and social insurance management,... The Corporation also regularly organizes conferences, disseminates Party resolutions, the Campaign to Study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh to call on officers, party members, and PVNC workers to strive to compete in labor production, successfully implementing the development acceleration strategy of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, PVC Corporation and PVNC.

For leaders and managers, the Corporation supports and creates conditions for 32 officers and engineers to participate in master's training courses in Construction, International Business Administration, intermediate and advanced political theory classes to improve their political theory and business management skills.

In addition, to ensure the rights of workers, every year, PVNC organizes a worker promotion exam for an average of 150 technical workers in all industries such as electricity, water, welding, masonry, carpentry, etc. to select a skilled workforce, find new factors to serve production and effectively implement the human resource development strategy in accordance with PVNC's orientation. Currently, PVNC has 235 skilled workers from level 5/7 to level 7/7. In recent years, PVNC has sent 15 skilled workers in various industries to participate in the "Skilled Worker" and "Golden Hand" competitions of Nghe An Construction Industry, winning 3 gold prizes, 2 silver prizes, 3 bronze prizes; participating in the 1st Oil and Gas Industry Skills Competition organized by the Oil and Gas Industry Union in Vung Tau City in December 2009 and winning 1 Bronze Medal. In the first 6 months of 2011, PVNC has provided training for more than 300 employees. According to the plan, in 2011 PVNC will provide training for 556 employees with a total cost of nearly 4 billion VND.

Along with the development of human resources, the Corporation has continuously improved its construction capacity by investing in purchasing construction equipment from 34.4 billion VND in 2008 to 55.4 billion VND in 2010 and plans to invest 100 billion VND in equipment to implement key works and projects in 2011 and 2012. In order to master the new technology equipment system, the Corporation has sent 120 officers, engineers and workers to study and receive new technology transfer to operate and control modern equipment such as bored pile drilling systems, tower cranes, pile drivers, commercial concrete mixing stations and technology transfer in the production of construction materials.

In addition to attracting and training staff to ensure the capacity to manage projects, PVNC has been implementing a new salary regulation based on job title and work performance to suit the current situation of PVNC, industry and State regulations.

To improve the spiritual life of employees, the Corporation's mass organizations regularly organize cultural and artistic exchange programs, physical training and sports with units inside and outside the Oil and Gas industry such as Vinh University, Traffic Construction Corporation 4, etc. to promote creativity and learn from the experiences of all employees of the Corporation. With investment in human resources, construction equipment capacity and management experience, PVNC is determined to complete the 2011 production and business plan with the following targets: output of 1,262 billion VND; revenue of 1,032 billion VND; pre-tax profit of 150 billion VND, payment to the state budget of over 100 billion VND, achieving a growth rate of 150% compared to 2010 and the average income of employees is 5.4 million VND/person/month.

For sustainable development, PVNC will further promote its existing advantages, in which developing high-quality human resources is the decisive factor for the development of the enterprise, contributing to making PVNC the leading specialized Construction and Investment Corporation in the North Central region by 2015 and having a position nationwide, enhancing the brand of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Construction Corporation and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group.
