Ba But Pagoda is recognized as a Historical and Cultural Relic.
At Ba But Pagoda, Lam Son Commune, Dong Nai DistrictMr. Luong has just held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.
The pagoda is located on a large land, in front of the poetic Lam River. In the past, Ba But Pagoda only worshiped Buddha Quan Am, later it was combined with many Buddha statues. In addition, cultural activities of historical significance also take place here. Every year on the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month, Buddha's birthday, especially on the festival day of Qua Son Temple, people hold a ceremony to thank Ba But at the pagoda with many forms such as: boat racing, carrying the palanquin of Ly Nhat Quang's statue from Qua Son Temple to the Pagoda, to express infinite gratitude to the Buddhas.
According to legend and historical records, the miraculous power of Bodhisattva Guan Yin helped people in their labor and production, especially for Uy Minh Vuong Ly Nhat Quang during his time as a district governor in Bach Duong. Besides his own talents and the help of the people, he also received the help of the gods to help him overcome difficult and dangerous situations.
During the resistance war against the French (1940 - 1943), Ba But Pagoda was the working place of Military Zone 4, the theater used to produce leather shoes for the army. In 1949, the Pagoda was also the place to spread the national language to the people in the area...
Recognizing and appreciating the historical and cultural value of Ba But Pagoda, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 4508/QD - UBND.VX dated September 9, 2009 recognizing Ba But Pagoda as a historical and cultural relic.
