Dr. Lisa Donofrio, a dermatologist in New Orleans (USA), said that when the skin begins to dry and crack, many people use detergents to soothe the burning sensation, then apply moisturizer, but the situation still does not improve. According to Dr. Donofrio, the best way to help the skin stay soft and smooth, avoiding dryness and cracking is to take advantage of natural therapies.
Milk and honey:Dr. Donofrio says that the fats and lactic acid in milk soothe irritated skin when applied topically. Soak a cloth in a bowl of cold milk and apply it to the irritated area, or mix milk with honey and apply it to flaky areas for instant relief. Honey is not only a natural moisturizer, but also has antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-microbial properties that fight off germs that live on the skin's surface.
Butter:According to Prevention, avocado is a great food rich in vitamin C, E and monounsaturated fat that helps the skin retain moisture and smoothness. When the weather is dry, avocado mashed avocado, avocado smoothies or avocado salad become especially important to maintain moisture for the skin. In addition, avocado can also be used as a mask to help smooth the skin.
Coconut oil:In addition to its natural moisturizing properties, coconut oil also boasts antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties, says Dr. Donofrio. Applying raw, unrefined coconut oil to your skin can help keep it soft and less dry and cracked.
Olive oil:Olive oil beauty has been around for thousands of years and is now an essential part of skin care. Olive oil is rich in nutrients, antioxidants and vitamins that are good for the body, so it is very beneficial for the skin. Among the natural antioxidants found in olive oil, vitamin A, vitamin E, as well as some polyphenols can slow down the aging process, provide moisture and soften the skin, so it also neutralizes free radicals that have a negative effect on the skin.
Soybeans:Soybeans contain a lot of vitamin E which helps to increase the vitality of the skin, at the same time makes the skin smoother, thereby effectively overcoming dry skin. You can supplement soybeans or soy products such as tofu, soy milk, etc. which all have very good skin care effects.
Green tea:Green tea protects the body against ultraviolet rays both when used topically and when taken orally. Dr. Donofrio says green tea is considered a natural beauty elixir. In addition to helping prevent inflammation, green tea helps restore dry, cracked skin, prevents premature aging, increases skin brightness, and more importantly, prevents skin cancer.
Egg:Eggs are rich in protein that helps regenerate skin cells. In addition, eggs also contain sulfur and lutein, which promote skin hydration and elasticity. You can make an egg mask by beating the egg until it becomes foamy, then apply it to your face and neck. Then rinse with water. Besides, eating boiled or braised eggs also helps to beautify the skin.
Orange vegetables:Orange fruits and vegetables such as oranges, mangoes, papayas, pumpkins, carrots, bell peppers, sweet potatoes... contain abundant beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A more easily. Vitamin A is essential in helping restore skin elasticity, helping to slow down the aging process as well as helping to improve wrinkles or dry skin. When the body lacks vitamin A, the skin is prone to acne, peeling, itching and rashes.
