Dai Tue Pagoda organizes Buddha's birthday celebration
(Baonghean.vn) - The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere with rituals such as chanting Buddha's name to pray for national peace and prosperity, offering flowers to Buddha, and bathing Buddha.
On the morning of May 19, Dai Tue Pagoda in Nam Anh Commune, Nam Dan District solemnly held the Buddha's birthday celebration of Buddhist calendar 2563.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Department of Home Affairs, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Police, leaders of Nam Dan and Nghi Loc districts, monks and abbots of pagodas in the province, and many Buddhists from near and far.

At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac - Head of the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Vice President of the Provincial Buddhist Sangha, Abbot of Dai Tue Pagoda read the Buddha's birthday message, Buddhist year 2563 of the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and informed about the success of the 2019 United Nations Vesak Festival recently held at Tam Chuc Pagoda, Ha Nam Province.
The Venerable emphasized: This is the third time Vietnam has hosted the United Nations Vesak Festival. With many records set, this Vesak festival is considered the most successful in 16 times it has been held.

The Buddha's Birthday celebration at Dai Tue Pagoda was held on the 15th day of the 4th lunar month, which is also the birthday of beloved Uncle Ho. Along with gratitude for the immeasurable merits of Buddha, the altar showed affection for beloved Uncle Ho - the great son of the nation, an outstanding cultural celebrity.

Speaking at the Buddha's birthday ceremony, Mr. Dinh Xuan Que - Chairman of Nam Dan District People's Committee affirmed the companionship of Vietnamese Buddhism for more than 2000 years of building and defending the country; acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive contributions of Buddhism in the cause of innovation and development of the homeland; wished that monks, nuns and Buddhists continue to preserve and promote the tradition of solidarity, protecting the country and people, and properly implementing the motto: religion - nation and socialism.

At the end of the ceremony, in a solemn atmosphere, the delegates, monks and Buddhists performed the ritual of chanting sutras, bathing the Buddha, praying for peace in the country, happiness for all people, and success in Buddhist work.
