The "super-score" class in President Ho Chi Minh's hometown.
Despite starting from humble beginnings, the students of class 12 A1 at Kim Lien High School had a successful exam season, with 9 students achieving a perfect score of 10 in Physics. In addition, many students achieved high scores, ranking among the top in the province and the country.
Pham Nhat Long is a male student with impressive achievements at Kim Lien High School.2025 High School Graduation ExamHis total score for the four graduation exams was the highest in the school with 38.25 points (Mathematics 9.5, Literature 9, Physics 10, and Chemistry 9.75). This male student also scored 29.25 points in the A-block subjects, placing him in the top 3 of the province, top 4 nationwide, and securing a spot on the list of high-scoring students honored by the Provincial People's Committee this year.
Previously, Long won second prize in Chemistry at the provincial excellent student competition. With that achievement, Long was quite confident in applying to Hanoi University of Science and Technology for Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence majors.

Regarding this result, Long further shared: "Most of the knowledge I learned came from my teachers at school, through lectures in class, free exam preparation sessions, or through direct discussions with classmates."
Besides Pham Nhat Long, the 12A1 class also has many other students who achieved high scores in this year's exams, including 6 students with a graduation score of 36 points or higher in 4 subjects, and many students with an average score of over 27 points in the 3-subject combination.
Notably, the class has 21 students who scored 9 or higher in Physics, including 9 students who scored 10, and the class's average Physics score is 8.61. This is an achievement rarely attained by high schools in the province.

Along with outstanding achievements in the recent High School Graduation Exam and the Provincial Excellent Student Competition, the class had 15 students who won prizes. Among them were 11 second prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Literature, and Mathematics, all ranking in the top 5 of the province.
With nine perfect scores of 10 in Physics, Mr. Tran Van Ban – Physics teacher and homeroom teacher of class 12A1 – said he was "very happy because this is an unprecedented achievement for the school." He also stated that this achievement was not due to luck but rather the result of a long period of serious teaching and preparation. In the final stages of preparation, he and his students worked through 80 practice exams to help students hone their test-taking skills.
Before the graduation exam, the Department and the school organized five mock exams, and in the first few rounds, the class average was only above 7, which worried us greatly. Therefore, we carefully analyzed each exam, identified the students' weaknesses, and gradually adjusted the teaching and learning methods.
The challenge this year was that teaching was affected by Circular 29, so even though free review sessions were provided, the students' time at school was limited. Therefore, in addition to classroom lessons, I gave them a physics test every day for extra practice. Afterwards, the teacher would correct the test, and the students would grade it themselves. We did this continuously for almost three months, right before the official exam.

This was also the first exam conducted under the 2018 General Education Program, so both teachers and students felt pressure. Therefore, not only in grade 12 but also from grade 10, the teaching, learning, and assessment of Physics in particular, and other subjects in general, have undergone changes.
To ensure a sufficient supply of exam questions for students, the school's teachers have connected with many colleagues in the Departments of Education and Training in various provinces to find exam questions that closely follow the curriculum and the Ministry's structure, compiled by experienced teachers. Through this process, teachers can also learn, improve their professional skills, and have access to a rich and high-quality source of questions for students to practice effectively.
With their outstanding results, the students of class 12A1 also contributed to the overall achievements of the school, helping Kim Lien High School climb 39 places in the 2025 high school graduation exam.
In the past academic year, despite the school's modest entrance requirements, the school achieved many outstanding results, with many students scoring high marks and ranking among the top in the province.
This achievement is thanks to the collective efforts of the teachers, who have dedicated so much passion to their students, the hard work of the students themselves, and the care and support of parents and families. We also have many policies to encourage, reward, and promptly recognize teachers and students who have achieved outstanding academic results…
