Cure body and bone pain with the three-tongue plant

According to traditional medicine, the three-tongue plant has a sweet taste, neutral properties, and the effect of promoting qi, activating blood, strengthening the spleen, and relieving coughs.

The three-tongue tree is also known as the female bi bai tree, the small tree, the Tay people call it mac thao sang, the Thai call it co dong dang, the K'ho people call it co nang... It is a small tree with crooked branches, green when young and then reddish brown. The bark is slightly wrinkled and smells of mango. The leaves grow opposite, have long, tapered petioles, whole edges, and have a fragrant smell when crushed.

The inflorescence is umbel-shaped and grows in the long leaf axils; the bracts and bracteoles form very small scales; the flowers are white and very fragrant. The fruit is spherical, fleshy, segmented, pale yellow when ripe and edible, containing a hard, 4-celled kernel, each containing a long seed with a hard, black shell. Flowering season: July - September; fruiting season: October - November.

The medicinal parts are the roots and leaves, harvested year-round. The roots are dug up, the rootlets removed, washed, sliced, and dried. Take the young leaves, not wormy or yellowed, and dry them in the sun or oven. The bark is for external use.

Some commonly used medicines

- Treats body and bone pain:

Recipe 1: 20g each of three-tongue plant, mimosa root, and feverfew root; 10g each of ginseng root and leaves, licorice root and leaves. Stir-fry all of these, then boil in 600ml of water until 200ml remains. Drink 1 dose per day, divided into 2 doses, for 5 days.

Recipe 2: 20g of three-tongue plant, 16g of Atractylodes Rhizome root, 20g of each of the roots of the Desmodium styracifolium plant, perilla flower, and Polygala root, 24g of the vine of the Desmodium styracifolium plant. Then put all of these in a pot, add 600ml of water, simmer until there is 300ml of water left, drink 1 dose per day, divided into 2 times. Each course of treatment lasts 15 days.

- Treatment of rheumatism:Joints and body ache, difficulty moving, whole body tired, like to lie down, floating pulse.

Root of the three-tongue plant, perilla, hy thiem, xanthium, tang ki sinh, and co xac, each 16g, saposhnikovia divaricata 12g, and thien nien kien 10g. Wash all ingredients, put them in a pot, add 600ml of water, boil down to 300ml, drink 1 dose per day, divided into 2 times, use for 10 consecutive days.

-Support treatment of stomach and duodenal pain:8g of trichosanthes bark, 16g of Smilax glabra, 16g of dandelion, 12g of honeysuckle, 12g of turmeric, 6g of cyperus rotundus, 8g of licorice. Wash all ingredients, put them in a pot, add 600ml of water and boil until there is 150ml left. Drink 1 dose per day, divided into 2 doses, each course of treatment is 7 days.
