Turmeric uses the whole root.
Turmeric is a familiar spice in every family. In medicine, turmeric is often used to treat stomach ulcers, applied to wounds and pimples to heal the mouth, form new skin and not leave scars, so turmeric is also known as a wound healing medicine.
According to traditional medicine, there are two medicinal herbs taken from the turmeric plant: the rhizome (curcuma longa) and the root (curcuma longa). Curcuma longa has a spicy and bitter taste, warm properties, and affects the liver and spleen meridians. It has the effect of breaking up blood stasis, reducing boils, stopping bleeding, regenerating new skin, regulating menstruation, and eliminating pain in the limbs. Curcuma longa has a cold property, and has the effect of promoting blood circulation, removing stagnation, and is often used to treat jaundice, heart pain, hemoptysis, and nosebleeds.
When injured due to training, falling, or being hit, causing blood stasis or bleeding, use fresh turmeric, peel, crush, squeeze out the juice (12g), and drink once a day. If there is blood accumulation in the abdomen causing abdominal pain, use turmeric, blood dragon, tangerine peel, guava bark, and licorice, all 12g, decoct and drink twice a day, morning and evening on an empty stomach.
