No link found between Nice attacker and IS

(Baonghean.vn) - July 18, 4 days have passed since the attack in Nice that killed 84 people and injured hundreds of others. According to the latest announcement, investigators have yet to find any connection between the killer Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel and the terrorist network, especially the IS group.

Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said that so far, the investigation has not found any link between the perpetrator of the cowardly attack in Nice and the terrorist network.

However, Mr Bernard added that the way the attack in Nice was carried out “completely imitated the messages of Daech (the Arabic acronym for IS)”.

The French Interior Minister said he could not rule out the possibility that Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel was an abnormal, violent person and that he seemed to have had this psychological trait for some time before quickly becoming radicalized and committing the horrific crime in Nice.

The attack was terrorist in nature from the very first minutes.

The investigation and evidence showed that this was a premeditated plan.

Police are currently questioning several individuals who had contact with Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel and provided him with weapons.

Regarding the casualties on the night of July 14, 84 people were killed, 308 people were injured, of which 58 people are still in hospital with 29 cases requiring special care.
