Carefully prepare for people to celebrate Lunar New Year happily, safely and economically
(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon, January 13, under the chairmanship of comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the People's Committee of Nghe An province had a working session with leaders of departments, branches and districts on preparations for the Lunar New Year 2012.
According to the report of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, up to now, Nghe An province has paid regular preferential allowances (January and February 2012) to 86 thousand beneficiaries with the amount of nearly 177 billion VND. The budget mobilized to give gifts to people with meritorious services during Tet is over 35.7 billion VND, of which gifts from the President to 100,720 people belonging to the following categories: Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the Armed Forces, relatives of martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries of people with meritorious services to the revolution are nearly 21 billion VND.
The province has allocated over 272.3 billion VND from the budget to pay regular subsidies to policy beneficiaries to celebrate Tet. The district budget has also allocated 13.411 billion VND to visit policy beneficiaries. For poor households, the provincial budget has supported nearly 14 billion VND. The provincial People's Committee has also issued a directive document and sent an urgent telegram to districts, cities and towns on supporting rice to relieve hunger for people during Tet, and checking the implementation process of support and distribution.
Comrade Ho Duc Phoc gave a speech assigning tasks to departments, branches, and districts to take good care of Tet for the people, especially the poor and policy families.
At the meeting, opinions of departments, branches, sectors, and districts on Tet preparations for people revolved around issues such as security and order at hotspots, ensuring food safety, compensation for people in Ban Ve lake area, rice transportation to remote areas, ensuring security and order at fireworks display sites, organizing New Year's Eve festival (Vinh city), caring for homeless people; caring for disease prevention...
Concluding the meeting, comrade Ho Duc Phoc requested localities and sectors to proactively respond to unexpected problems; ensure good security and order, control traffic accidents; prevent cases of taking advantage of Tet to gather and cause trouble; strictly manage the use of firecrackers; prevent gambling and other social evils; avoid disease outbreaks and poor quality goods; ensure social security, resolutely not let any household go hungry or cold during Tet; strengthen inspection and control work in each block and hamlet, organize healthy and useful activities for people to enjoy the spring and welcome Tet.
