Carefully prepare the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Memorial House for Uncle Ho's family members and the Nghe An Folk Song Festival

(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon, June 7, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a meeting to give opinions on the following contents: Detailed plan, plan to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a memorial house for relatives of Uncle Ho's family and plan to organize the Nghe An Vi Dam folk song festival. Comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting; also attending were Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of relevant departments, branches, leaders of Nam Dan District People's Committee and Vinh City People's Committee.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Organizing Committee of these two events, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee reported on the preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony to build a memorial house for relatives of Uncle Ho's family in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district; the progress of the implementation of the plan to organize the Nghe An Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival... Accordingly, the groundbreaking ceremony to build a memorial house for relatives of Uncle Ho's family will officially take place at 8:30 a.m. on June 10 at Chung mountain, Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district. Up to now, the preparation work has been basically completed from handing over the site to the propaganda stage as well as security work.

Regarding the Nghe An Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival, after the cluster round was successfully held in 3 localities: Do Luong, Dien Chau, Tan Ky, the Nghe An Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival at the provincial level will be held on 3 days, June 23-25, at the Provincial Labor Culture House. Participating in the festival are over 20 clubs selected from the cluster-level festival of Nghe An province and 5 clubs selected from the provincial-level festival of Ha Tinh province. On the occasion of the festival, the Organizing Committee will organize 4 folk song exchange points to serve the public, of which Nghe An has 3 points in Cua Lo, Nam Dan and Vinh City; Ha Tinh has 1 point in Nghi Xuan district...

After listening to and summarizing the situation and constructive comments of the delegates, the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the plan of the Organizing Committee of the two events. Concluding the meeting, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The construction of a temple to honor relatives of Uncle Ho is an important project with profound significance to express gratitude to the great contributions of Uncle Ho's parents and siblings, in accordance with the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" of our nation. With such meaning, it is requested that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - the investor of the project, ensure the progress and quality of the construction of the church; The organization of the groundbreaking ceremony must be solemn and absolutely safe.

Regarding the Nghe Vi-Giam Folk Song Festival, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Festival Organizing Committee to continue to effectively implement the propaganda work in accordance with the spirit of the issued plan; ensuring that the Festival truly becomes a festival of Nghe. Accordingly, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism needs to urgently compile a scientific dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition of Nghe Vi-Giam Folk Songs as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism before July 31, 2012.
