Preparing to receive the World Heritage certificate "Hung King worship"

It is expected that on April 13, 2013 (the 4th day of the 3rd lunar month), the ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition of the World Heritage "Hung King Worship" will take place on the occasion of the Hung King Commemoration Anniversary - Hung Temple Festival 2013.

In preparation for the ceremony to receive the world heritage certificate and organize the Hung Temple Festival 2013, many items in the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site have been completed.

Phu Tho province also strengthens management and rectify advertising and visual propaganda activities; focuses on cultural, artistic and propaganda activities... so that the Hung Temple Festival 2013 is an exemplary festival in organization and receives the consensus of the majority of people.

Previously, on December 6, 2012, at the 7th session, the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage 2003 officially recognized the Hung King worship ritual in Phu Tho, Vietnam as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
UNESCO's recognition of the Hung King worship in Phu Tho has demonstrated the vitality of Vietnamese culture, associated with the flow of cultural integration into the world.
UNESCO experts assessed that the Hung King worship custom shows respect for ancestors, increases national pride and solidarity; this belief, when recognized, will encourage awareness of gratitude to ancestors in many countries around the world as well as general awareness of respect for cultural diversity in the community.
