Preparing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 7, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to deploy a plan to organize activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2014), and the 25th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2014).

Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were comrades: Le Ba Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee - Head of the Propaganda Department; Colonel Ha Tan Tien - Commander of the Provincial Military Command, representatives of departments and offices of the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, Veterans Association, Departments and branches.

Implementing Directive No. 31 - CT/TU (December 25, 2013) of the Politburo on organizing major holidays in 2014 - 2015, Plan No. 116 - KH/TU of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on implementing activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 25th anniversary of the National Defense Day, the Provincial People's Committee deployed a program to widely propagate to all classes of people and the armed forces, especially the young generation, about the glorious 70-year historical journey of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnam People's Army.

The commemorative activities aim to raise awareness, strengthen confidence, arouse pride, and strive to promote the glorious tradition of the army, heighten the determination of officers and soldiers and people of all walks of life in the task of building a strong national defense, building a national defense posture associated with a solid people's security posture.

The Celebration Program Plan includes the following activities: Propagating the glorious history of 70 years of the Vietnam People's Army; actively carrying out gratitude activities; Organizing the donation of gratitude houses, offering flowers at historical sites, martyrs' cemeteries, visiting and giving gifts to the Nursing Center for seriously wounded soldiers, families with meritorious services, and giving gifts to military units stationed in the province; Organizing a contest to learn about the tradition of 70 years of the Vietnam People's Army launched by the General Department of Politics; Organizing cultural, artistic and sports activities for the masses.

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the plan of the Provincial Military Command.
