Preparing to organize the 2016 National Spring Press Festival

The 2016 National Spring Press Festival with the theme "Celebrating the New Year, celebrating the success of the 12th Party Congress, celebrating the country's 30 years of renovation" will take place from March 10-13 in Hanoi.

The Ministry of Information and Communications said that the 2016 National Spring Press Festival was jointly organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hanoi People's Committee at the Vietnam Journalists Association building (Cau Giay, Hanoi).

The Spring Press Festival is expected to be divided into 23-25 ​​exhibition blocks of central press units and 10 clusters of local press units with the main activity being the display of Spring press publications and propaganda press about the 12th Party Congress and the achievements of 30 years of national renovation.

The awards include: Awards for impressive and unique presentation areas; Tet newspaper cover awards; Awards for good press works and publications on the theme of the 12th Party Congress and 30 years of national renewal; Awards for attractive and impressive radio and television programs on the theme of the Party Congress and 30 years of national renewal.

Launch of "Russian-Vietnamese bilingual Tale of Kieu"

On the afternoon of February 25, in Hanoi, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in collaboration with the Vietnam Writers Association organized the introduction of the free verse translation of Nguyen Du's "Truyen Kieu" titled "Truyen Kieu Bilingual Russian-Vietnamese" by translator Vu The Khoi.

Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vietnam Vadim Vladimirovich Bublikov highly appreciated the quality of the translation, the Russian vocabulary, the translator's delicate translation and hoped that the translation of "The Tale of Kieu" would not only help Russians better understand classic Vietnamese literature but this book would also be valuable for students and lecturers of Vietnamese studies in Russia.

“The Tale of Kieu” bilingual Russian-Vietnamese is printed in Vietnamese and the poem is translated into Russian with notes and illustrations.

In this book, 20 illustrations by famous Vietnamese artists such as Nguyen Do Cung, Tran Van Can, Bui Xuan Phai, Ta Thuc Binh... were selected to be printed, contributing to increasing the beauty and value of the book.

On February 25, at An Hoa fishing port, Tam Giang commune, the People's Committee of Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition of "Ba Trao singing as a national intangible cultural heritage".

Hat Ba Trao is a unique folk song genre in the folk culture treasure of Quang Nam. This is a comprehensive art form, a form of ritual performance not only by artists but also by the entire fishing community.

Hat Ba Trao is held on the occasion of the fishing festival and the whale worshiping festival at the beginning of the new year, before the journey to sea of ​​fishermen in the Central provinces in general and fishermen in Quang Nam in particular.

The content of the Ba Trao singing in Quang Nam praises the virtue of the Whale who appeared to save people in danger, prays for a good catch of seafood, and describes the optimistic spirit, solidarity, and mutual support of fishermen in the process of making a living at sea in order to reach a prosperous and full life. Every time the Ba Trao singing is performed, both the artist and the audience sincerely pray for peace and prosperity for everyone, every home.

Nowadays, in every coastal commune of Quang Nam province in general and Nui Thanh district in particular, there is at least one Ba Trao singing team to perform during holidays, Tet, Whale worshiping ceremonies, and New Year's fishing praying ceremonies of the fishing village residents.
