Prepare well for the election of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels
On the morning of March 23, the Provincial People's Committee held its regular March meeting chaired by comrade Ho Duc Phoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
In the first quarter of this year, despite some difficulties such as prolonged cold, livestock and poultry diseases, rising inflation, etc., under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the efforts of all levels, sectors and localities, the socio-economic situation in the area still achieved a good growth rate. GDP is estimated at over 3,762 billion VND, equivalent to 20.2%, up 11.8%, of which the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 2.9%, industry and construction increased by 21.8%, and services increased by 8.3%.
In the first quarter, the 2011 Spring Tan Mao Investor Meeting Conference was successfully held, with 10 agreements signed between the Provincial People's Committee and investors with a total capital of over 14 trillion VND; the "Outstanding Nghe An Entrepreneur" Cup was awarded; investment certificates were granted to 1 foreign investment project with a capital of 11.6 million USD and 11 domestic projects with a total capital of over 1,500 billion VND...
However, there are still some limitations that need to be focused on overcoming such as: high prices; damage caused by weather affecting agricultural production; increased traffic accidents...
Concluding on this issue, comrade Ho Duc Phoc requested that in the coming time, all levels and sectors need to focus on doing well the work of preparing for the National Assembly and People's Council elections; closely following the grassroots to promptly handle arising issues, ensuring security and order in advance during the election preparation process; removing difficulties and obstacles for business development; focusing on agricultural production to ensure food security; focusing on building new rural areas; doing well the work of land acquisition and clearance, especially for key and urgent projects; completely resolving the problem of tax arrears; completing the planning of Dong Hoi Industrial Park, inspecting urban areas, planning and land use in Vinh City; doing well the procedures to establish the border gates: Thanh Thuy, Cao Veu and Thong Thu...
The Provincial People's Committee also listened to reports on the implementation of the state budget estimate and reports on administrative reform in the first quarter, solutions in the second quarter; Supplementing the action program to implement the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress in the spirit of the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress. In the afternoon, the Provincial People's Committee supplemented and approved 4 contents: amending and supplementing Regulation 122/QD-TU (term XVI) on policies and decisions on investment in projects in Nghe An province; Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee on promoting the implementation of the national target program on new rural construction until 2015; Draft Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee on the development of industry, small-scale industry, and craft villages in the period of 2011-2020 and Report on the implementation results of Resolution 12 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, term XV, on the tourism development program 2002-2010, the Nghe An tourism development program in the period of 2011-2015.
