We are too young to be sad anymore…
(Baonghean.vn) - Society is becoming more and more advanced, but people are becoming more and more regressive in their spiritual life. They are weak, sentimental, easily dragged down by depression, and their positive energy is so little that it is not enough to lift them up from the depths of depression.

Minh texted me that he probably had to find a way out of this situation, because he was so tired! I replied: Yes, I have to change! I didn't expect that that would be the last text, the last memory of Minh - the 24-year-old guy with a radiant smile.
The “way out of this situation” that Minh sent, unexpectedly was the most extreme method. 3 days later, Minh’s family found his body downstream, more than ten kilometers from where he committed suicide. His parents cried their hearts out. His family, because of their son’s decisive departure, had prolonged tragedy and poverty. His friends - both those who had been good and bad to him, came to burn incense and then left. That’s it, time flows on, who would stop to remember a life that has ended.
If there really is an afterlife, I really want to know if Minh has any regrets when he looks back at the mess he left behind? As long as he lives, he has everything. There is no sadness that cannot be overcome. There is no obstacle or difficulty that cannot be resolved. Minh has been stuck in a depression that is mostly created by a weak mental world, dramatizing it, and thinking that if he just doesn't exist, everything will disappear. What about those who stay behind, Minh? Minh shook off his depression, but placed a thousand times more pain on the shoulders of his loved ones...

In this world, every day there are up to 4,000 people like Minh - according to data from WHO. People who commit suicide tend to be younger. Failing exams; parents scolding; lovers turning their backs; friends breaking promises; difficult work; illness... everything that is not going well in life can be the cause of extreme decisions. It feels like the endurance of some young people today is much weaker than in the past? In the past, people cherished life to the extreme, people struggled in a sea of swords, guns and bullets to hold on to their last breath; but today, for many people, life is sometimes just an impulsive decision in a flash.
Depression seems to be a social syndrome of many young people. On the internet, we see many lamenting statuses, photos of people looking away into the distant darkness, and tired exclamation marks. In real life, many people choose to end negativity to end the troubles and confusion of their lives.
Society is becoming more and more advanced, but people are becoming more and more regressive in their spiritual life. They are weak, sentimental, easily dragged down by depression, and their positive energy is so little that it is not enough to lift them up from the depths of depression. They are too sensitive, have low self-esteem, love themselves incorrectly, always tend to dramatize their life stories, exaggerate their sadness, and think that they are the most unfortunate people in the world. Instead of finding ways to face and solve problems, many young people choose to shrink back, curl up in a dark inner world, tormenting their minds with desperate associations.

But sometimes, expressing sadness is also a trend. The Internet and social media have created a huge number of sad people at a dizzying speed. It feels like expressing joy receives less sympathy than sadness, less "likes" than sadness, and less attention and interaction than sadness. That's right, interaction - it is one of the causes of online sadness syndrome, and gradually becomes a poison that slowly kills the minds of a part of young people. In a virtual world where interaction becomes an obsessive race, numbers (views, followers, reach, likes, comments, shares...) are the only recognized measure, many people are unconsciously swept away by that flow. On Facebook, Instagram, TikTok... there are many hashtags #proana (supporting anorexia), #socialanxiety (social anxiety), #suicide (suicide)... attracting a lot of likes, comments and shares.
Perhaps, we really need a “revolution” to push back online sadness, bring people back to the real world full of joy, anger, love, hate, and sharpen the mind in the sea of human life filled with joy and sadness, because life is obviously like that. Life is worth living, and happiness is sparkling all around, after all, “We are too young to be sad anymore” (poem by Nguyen Thien Ngan). Live, be happy!
