Series of programs celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day in Hanoi's Old Quarter
Many activities and programs such as exhibitions, art performances, and live tours will be held at historical sites in Hanoi's Old Quarter in the coming days.
On September 30, the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter said that this is a series of highlight activities organized by the management board in coordination with many units, organizations and individuals to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Day.Liberate the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).
In which, the exhibition "Memories of Hanoi - 70 years" recreates the space of old Hanoi in the Hanoi Old Quarter during the periodNational resistanceof the army and people of Hanoi until the day of taking over the capital (1947 - 1954).
The exhibition will take place from October 2 to 13 at Phung Hung Mural Space. The Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter will coordinate with artists and researchers to create and serve the people and tourists by decorating and arranging models of the ancient quarter, welcome gates, flags, banners, slogans and organizing a photo exhibition with the theme "Hoan Kiem District - Historical Images", introducing documentary photos of Hoan Kiem District during the period from the August Revolution in 1945 to the day of taking over the capital on October 10, 1954.

At the Heritage House (87 Ma May Street, Hang Buom Ward), a thematic exhibition and a live tour of “Stories of Hang Street” will take place from October 4 to December 31. The “Stories of Hang Street” theme, arranged by the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board in collaboration with the scene director and artist Nguyen Manh Duc, recreates the space and cultural lifestyle of an ancient Hanoian family practicing Oriental medicine in the 1930s.
The tour with the theme "Stories of Hang Street" was built by the Management Board in collaboration with the Youth Theater.
The program is inspired by images and stories about the Heritage House at 87 Ma May, recreating the daily life of a middle-class Hanoi family working in traditional medicine. Through real scenes, characters and traditional singing and dancing performances, combined with sound, lighting and supporting technical means, the artists of the Youth Theater will bring the audience back to life in the 1930s...
On this occasion, at the Ho Guom Information - Cultural Center (No. 2 Le Thai To, Hang Trong Ward), there will be a photo exhibition "Hanoi - Takeover Day 1954" and a screening of the documentary "Memories of Hanoi" (from October 9 to 20).
At the Heritage Villa 49 Tran Hung Dao, Hang Bai Ward, there is a photo exhibition “Hanoi - A Time to Remember” (from October 10 to 31), introducing 86 black and white photos published for the first time by two authors Le Bich and Andy Soloman (British reporters), helping viewers clearly feel the transformation of Hanoi during the renovation period.
At the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (50 Dao Duy Tu Street, Hang Buom Ward), there will be a traditional music performance by the Dong Kinh Co Nhac group (evening of October 19)...
Previously, the online exhibition with the theme “Dear Capital People!” and displaying typical documents of the exhibition was opened at the Government Guest House, No. 2 Le Thach, Trang Tien Ward. The exhibition will run until October 31.
At the walking space around Hoan Kiem Lake, there is a photo exhibition "Hanoi in me" taking place from September 28 to October 29./.
