Lushan Temple Bell
(Baonghean.vn) - At the headquarters of the People's Committee of Nghi Quang commune (Nghi Loc district, Nghe An), an ancient bronze bell is currently being kept. According to the inscription on the bell, this is the bell of Lu Son pagoda (Lu Son Tu Chung).
According to the text on the bell body, Lu Son Pagoda used to belong toAng Do commune, Thuong Xa commune, Chan Loc district, Duc Quang prefecture, now Nghi Quang commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province. Through the vicissitudes of history, the pagoda was destroyed. The pagoda bell is a rare relic remaining of Lu Son pagoda. The pagoda bell is still intact, 120cm high, the bell mouth diameter is 51cm, the bell body is carved with quite delicate patterns and motifs.

In particular, on the body of the bell there is a paragraph in Chinese characters, recording the names of Buddhists and believers who donated money to the temple. The bell of Lu Son pagoda was cast in the 9th year of Gia Long (Gia Long cuu nien), that is, in 1810. Thus, as of 2012, the bell is 202 years old.
Lu Son Pagoda bell is a precious antique with high cultural and historical value. In the coming time, it is necessary to urgently have a plan to preserve and promote its value in accordance with the provisions of the Heritage Law.
