Expert: Sanctions against Russia will push Europe away from the US
According to Sputniknews, political analyst Dmitry Solonnikov recently said that US sanctions not only benefit Russia but also risk worsening Washington's relations with European partners.
"These sanctions will not only have negative consequences for Russia, but will also harm Europe and the United States itself. It will no longer be possible to get American and European technology, Russia will have to develop it itself. Then Russia will no longer need to cooperate with American and European companies, because Moscow will be able to do everything on its own," Dmitry Solonnikov said.
The expert also noted that sanctions against Russia would cause a split between the US and Europe.

“While Poland and the Baltic states will support US sanctions, the ‘old’ EU countries will realise that they are losing out. On the one hand, US sanctions will deepen the rift within the EU, and on the other hand, this will separate Europe (from the US) financially and also energy-wise,” Solonniko said.
Mr. Solonnikov warned that Europe will become increasingly wary of Washington. He stressed: "Many countries in Europe see this as an 'arrogant' attempt by Washington to force them to buy liquefied natural gas from the US, instead of from Russia"./.
