Japanese experts support safe driving training in Vietnam
On January 30, the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) and Toyota Vietnam Company signed a memorandum of cooperation to implement a safe driving training program, with direct support from Toyota Corporation Japan.
The program aims to develop a core team of instructors to provide training in knowledge, skills and awareness of safe driving for car drivers in Vietnam; organize safe driving training courses for students. Participating in the program is Mr. Toshio Kanno, an expert from Japan with 33 years of experience in the field of driver training, who has trained more than 60,000 students.
The Traffic Police Department and Toyota Vietnam Company have developed a safe driving training curriculum that is suitable for the actual traffic situation in Vietnam. In 2015, the program will train the Traffic Police Department and members of Toyota Vietnam, in 2016 it will train dealership staff and in 2017 it will train the community.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Do Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department, highly appreciated this joint training program. This is a practical activity that contributes to reducing traffic accidents, maintaining traffic order and safety, and improving safe driving skills for officers and soldiers directly involved in ensuring traffic safety of the traffic police force and related forces.
