Turkish expert warns of World War III breaking out in Crimea
(Baonghean.vn) - According to Ria Novosti news agency on February 25, in an interview, Turkish politician Unver Sel said that Ukraine's military intervention in Crimea would lead to World War III.

Earlier, on February 23, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with Fox News, stated that he did not want to sign new agreements similar to the Minsk Agreement. He also affirmed that Ukraine would prepare a new "successful counterattack in the Black Sea", promising to bring "surprises" to Russia.
Turkish politician Unver Sel said: "Ukraine should not consider military intervention in Crimea. This would clearly mean World War III. If the Ukrainian government makes the same mistakes as the Nazis of previous generations, they will suffer the consequences. The Ukrainian people will also suffer heavily."
According to Mr. Unver Sel, Crimea has no other choice like in 2014 but to become part of Russia.
“Crimea received the right to self-determination and was annexed to Russia in 2014 as a result of a referendum. Attempts to bring this issue up for discussion were futile. The issue was closed in 2014 and has never been reopened,” said Sel.
Crimea became a Russian region in March 2014 after a referendum in which 96.77% of voters in Crimea and 95.6% in Sevastopol voted in favor of the peninsula joining Russia. Ukraine still considers Crimea a temporarily occupied territory and many Western countries support Kiev on this issue.
For their part, the Russian leadership has repeatedly stated that the people of Crimea voted to reunify with Russia through democratic means, in full compliance with international law and the UN Charter. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Crimea issue is “finally closed.”
