(Baonghean.vn) There is an "event" that has been of interest to people in the southwestern region of Quy Hop for over a month. Many people praise "them" for daring to think and act, while others are a bit worried about the difficulties when farmers become... businesses.

The people I want to talk about in this article are those who "fumbled" to found the Chau Son Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative (HTX) headquartered in Bac Son commune (Quy Hop). Veteran Luong Duong Nga dared to think and act, Lo Van Vinh, a young man with great ambition, once went to the capital to stand on the podium of glory to receive the Luong Dinh Cua award, and Nguyen Thi Anh, from Do Luong, came to marry the Thai-Vi village (Bac Son) with a beautiful love story like in a fairy tale... The six people who founded the cooperative have six very unique lives, but what they all have in common is that they always aspire to rise up to escape poverty and become rich right on their homeland's fields.

In the conversation with me, Chairman Luong Duong Nga said that the journey of "conceiving" to establish the cooperative was very long, but it all started from the concerns of the people. For example, the land of Tung Manh and Tung Nguoc is so vast, why is each household's land so small that the corn is neither corn nor sweet potato? Or like the story, corn is produced in such a large quantity, dozens of tons per crop, why is the price so fluctuating that everyone suffers the same disadvantage... The business stories of everyone often revolve around that concern. And then, when the going gets tough, the smartest, everyone tells each other to unite. Struggling to find a model, drafting the charter, groping to register a business... In October 2011, Chau Son Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative was born.

It is difficult to express the joy of the people on this great day. The people voluntarily donated, a buffalo "raised by the family" was slaughtered to treat the villagers and distinguished guests. Sharing with the people, the departments and branches in Quy Hop district joined hands to help. The Department of Agriculture and the Agricultural Extension Station provided technical support; the Agricultural Bank and the Social Policy Bank helped with loans to start the business initially... Looking at the business registration certificate No. 27F8A00032/QH issued by the People's Committee of Quy Hop district to the Cooperative, I saw that the business capital was up to 4 billion six hundred and fifty million VND. The Cooperative owns an agricultural land area of up to 40 hectares spread from Tung Manh to Tung Nguoc, not to mention hundreds of hectares of protected and planted forests stretching as far as the eye can see.

When I visited, all members of the cooperative were present. The fact is, people were waiting for the truck carrying super-lean pigs to bring home to raise. In the conversation, everyone was excited about the upcoming investment direction of the cooperative. That is, investing in processing agricultural and forestry products, expanding the supply of agricultural materials, mechanizing production stages so that the 40 hectares of cultivated land can generate the most profit while saving labor...

Saying goodbye to the members, I wondered: Is it possible that the mountainous region of Nghe An is transforming itself to integrate and "fall in love" with the commodity production mindset that started with people like that?
