During a meeting with a delegation from South Korea's ruling New World Party led by Kim Mu Song who is visiting Washington, a senior CIA official who spoke on condition of anonymity said: "We must be aware of the possibility of North Korea taking military provocations on the occasion of the party's founding anniversary in October."

Although it did not mention specific provocative actions, it implied the possibility that Pyongyang would launch a ballistic missile.

The official also mentioned North Korea's nuclear weapons development program, saying, "There has been no progress on the North Korean nuclear issue."

In addition, this official also mentioned the China-North Korea relationship, he said that Beijing is showing disappointment with Pyongyang's tough stance on the nuclear issue and the relationship between the two countries is unlikely to be smooth.

He also stressed that North Korea is becoming dangerous as China has an inconsistent stance in sanctioning the country./.
