Nghe An striker Le Cong Vinh may return to play in J-League 2 if his contract extension with Song Lam Nghe An fails.

Vietnam's number one striker Le Cong Vinh said that a J-League 2 team has expressed interest in bringing him back to Japan to play. Two weeks ago, the representative of this club directly contacted Vinh to invite him to play in East Asia for the second time, when his contract with Song Lam Nghe An ends at the end of August.

According to the investigation, the team that approached Cong Vinh twice was his old club, Consadole Sapporo. At the beginning of the 2014 season, the Hokkaido team deposited five billion VND to redeem Cong Vinh's one-year contract. They were also willing to raise the price to buy back Cong Vinh's contract, but still received a shake of the head from the Vinh Stadium team.

Ahead of J-League 2, Sapporo is offering a monthly salary of $10,000 (over VND200 million), a two-year contract, and promises to cover the cost of the striker born in 1985 studying coaching for about three to five years.

"I cannot announce anything at the moment as I am still a member of Song Lam Nghe An," Cong Vinh shared. "If the contract extension between me and my home club is not carried out, I will think about whether to return to play football in the J-League or not. The J-League is an ideal, professional environment with good benefits. The head coach of the Vietnamese national team, Toshiya Miura, also advised me to go to Japan to improve my skills and have the opportunity to become a coach after retiring from playing."

The Vietnamese striker added that he wants to wait until next month to make a final decision: "After the last round of this season, I will return to Ho Chi Minh City to see my wife and children. The leaders of Song Lam Nghe An will have specific calculations and schedule an appointment with me in the near future. I have not contacted any transfer clubs while the season is still going on. I respect Song Lam Nghe An and have not rushed to make any decision. After consulting my family and the negotiation situation with the parent club, I will make an official decision this September."
