Chinese social media users are excitedly discussing the story of a girl in Chongqing city, Sichuan province, who bought a house with money from selling her iPhone 7, according to BBC.

Qiaoba, a colleague of the girl, nicknamed Xiaoli by Chinese media, recounted the story of how she bought the house online earlier this week.

Xiaoli met and dated 20 guys at the same time. After the iPhone 7 officially went on sale in China at the end of September, Xiaoli tested her boyfriends by asking them to give her a phone, and unexpectedly all 20 of them agreed.

In the end, Xiaoli had 20 iPhone7s and called Hui Shou Bao, an online store that specializes in buying back phones.

"A few days before National Day, we received a phone call from a girl asking if we would buy back 20 iPhone 7s," said a Hui Shou Bao employee. "At that time, we found it very strange, because this type of phone had just been released for sale, and there was not enough stock on the market, so why did a girl have so many phones in her hands?"

"After asking her, we bought her phone back according to company regulations," the person said. They paid her 120,000 yuan ($17,800), and Xiaoli used the money to put down a deposit on a house in the countryside.

Qiaoba said Xiaoli showed off her new house to her friends and everyone was surprised when she revealed how she bought the house.

"Everyone in the office is talking about it now," Qiaoba wrote. "Everyone is speculating about what the boyfriends think."

Xiaoli "is not from a wealthy family. Her mother is a housewife, her father is a migrant worker, and she is the eldest daughter in the family. Her parents are old and she is probably under a lot of pressure to help them buy a house. However, it is unimaginable that she would use this method?" Qiaoba wrote.

More than 13 million Chinese social media users shared Xiaoli's story with the hashtag #20 iPhones a house.

"I can't even find a boyfriend, but she has 20 at the same time and they all buy themselves iPhone 7s. I really want her to teach me," one person wrote.

Except for a few people who admired Xiaoli, most netizens criticized the girl, with some saying she was "truly shameless".

Many media outlets contacted Xiaoli's company for interviews, but were all refused, saying that her life had been greatly affected in recent days and Xiaoli did not want the media to pry into her private life anymore.
