Kindergarten teacher suspected of being brutally abused by her husband
Trung punched his wife straight in the face, causing her to fall. He continued to beat his wife in many places, causing her to be hospitalized with a swollen face, headache, and vomiting.
On September 29, the police of Phu An commune, Phu Vang district, Thua Thien Hue province said they had handed over the case file of a local kindergarten teacher suspected of being abused by her husband and suffering multiple injuries.
Accordingly, the victim was Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong T. (27 years old, residing in Trieu Thuy village, Phu An commune, currently a teacher at Phu An kindergarten). Ms. T.'s family accused her of being abused and brutally beaten by her husband, Nguyen Thanh Trung (residing in the same Trieu Thuy village), resulting in Ms. T. being hospitalized with multiple injuries.
Mr. Nguyen Nghe (56 years old, Ms. T.'s father) said that his daughter had been married to Mr. Trung for several years and had a child. The couple had recently had many conflicts because his son-in-law did not have a stable job but was addicted to gambling. Since then, his daughter has brought her child back to live with her parents.

Ms. T. became panicked after being hospitalized twice because her husband beat her. |
On September 19, Trung went to Mr. Nghe's house to visit his child. Suddenly, Trung snatched the baby from his mother-in-law's arms and brought him back to Trung's house. When Ms. T. heard the news, she ran from Phu An kindergarten to Trung's house.
Ms. T. knocked on the door and begged Trung to return her child. A moment later, Trung opened the door, holding a Thai knife in his hand. Trung punched his wife straight in the face, causing Ms. T. to fall down. Trung continued to beat his wife in many places, causing Ms. T. to be hospitalized with a swollen face, headache, and vomiting.
Nearly a week later, at 1:25 p.m. on September 25, Ms. T. was on her way home from school when Trung came from behind on his motorbike and pulled her down and pressed a switchblade to her neck. Ms. T. screamed and begged for mercy, but Trung continued to pull her head and repeatedly hit it on the ground. Ms. T. was hospitalized immediately afterward.
Ms. Duong Thi Ngoc Hong (52 years old, Ms. T.'s mother) fearfully said that her daughter had become panicked and always afraid since being beaten twice. There was a time when Ms. T. told her mother, "Mom, sooner or later, he will kill me."
Lieutenant Colonel Mai Thanh Tri, Chief of Phu An Commune Police, said that the case has been handed over to Phu Vang District Police for investigation.
