Poor student receives Odon - Valer scholarship for 3 consecutive years

(Baonghean) - With impressive academic achievements, 3 consecutive years of study (2008 - 2009, 2009 - 2010 and 2010 - 2011), I was honored to receive the Odon - Valer scholarship for students with good academic achievements in the field of natural sciences. That is Nguyen Thi Hang - a poor student in Thanh Phong commune - Thanh Chuong.

Nguyen Thi Hang, born in 1994, is the eldest of three children. Her parents are both farmers, so life is very difficult. Loving her parents, every day, in addition to going to school, Hang helps her family with farm work and takes care of her two younger siblings. Her learning experience is to concentrate highly, understand the lessons in class so that when she gets home, she has time to help her parents and do extra exercises outside of the textbook. Thanks to her tireless efforts, throughout the past 11 years of studying, Hang has always achieved the title of an excellent student.

After winning the Encouragement Prize for Excellent Students in Grade 5, the Encouragement Prize for Chemistry in Grade 9 of the whole province, in the 2010-2011 school year, Hang again "Ωm" the Second Prize in the Provincial Physics Olympiad. Physics teacher Nguyen Cong Luong, Head of Grade 12B said: "For Hang, her own best efforts, the diligence and hard work she inherited from her parents and a little bit of innate intelligence are the things that bring her success. Hang is very passionate, eager to learn and explore difficult math problems and types, and good ways to solve them. She often exchanges with friends and teachers. Therefore, the knowledge she gains is in-depth and she has a very solid grasp of the problem. With friends, Hang enthusiastically helps and guides them, and enthusiastically debates the issues raised by teachers".

In the 2011-2012 school year, Hang brought Thanh Chuong 1 High School great honor when she won first prize in Mathematics (18.5 points), second prize in Chemistry (16 points) and third prize in Physics (15 points) in the provincial excellent student competition. Understanding Hang's situation and her love of learning, the school and homeroom teacher created the best conditions for her to study and assert herself. After striving and achieving high results in the excellent student competitions. Hang caught the eye of the "Meeting Vietnam" scientific organization and was honored to receive the Odon - Valer scholarship for 3 consecutive years. "I am very grateful for the teachings, thoughtful guidance and affection of my teachers and friends. I will try my best not to disappoint everyone's expectations. My dream is to become a successful businessman in the future to contribute to building my homeland and helping those in difficult circumstances. But to do that, I need to study hard and prepare to pass the upcoming exams" - Hang confided.

Talking about the school's favorite student, Mr. Nguyen Trieu Tien, Vice Principal of Thanh Chuong 1 High School proudly said: "Nguyen Thi Hang is a student with extremely difficult circumstances, her family is among the poor households in the commune. However, she always affirms her mettle and ability in studying as well as through the activities of the class, school, Youth Union and the school's Youth Union. Hang possesses many factors such as moral character, learning ability, learning spirit... worthy of being emulated by her friends. We are very proud of what Hang has brought to this traditional school in Thanh Chuong land...".
