Should I buy a 2008 Toyota Camry for 720 million VND?
The early and timely presence makes Camry randomly take the number 1 position in the market of mid-range but not luxury cars.
The car line assembled in Vietnam since around 2002 without any worthy competitor except Ford Mondeo was soon overshadowed.

Furthermore, rumors about the durability and low failure rate (although that is still not enough) of the old generation Camry models make this car line cost more than its real value.
In return, spare parts and vehicle operating costs are quite low, Vietnamese mechanics are very good and proficient in repairing Toyota vehicles and replacement parts for this car line can be purchased anywhere without having to go to the dealer.
In the 6th generation, the new Camry had to face clear competition from the 2010 Hyundai Sonata, Honda Accord, and later the Nissan Teana, but sales still did not decrease.
Advantage
The reason why Camry surpasses its competitors is simply the psychology of high liquidity, economy and no depreciation that has been deeply ingrained in the consumer habits of those who have used Toyota cars and those who have never used them before.
Disadvantages
If you compare Camry with its main mid-range competitors at the same price or lower that consumers can think of such as Accord 2008, Sonata 2010, Nissan Teanna 2.0L, Camry is not a bright name in both design and operation.
Active and passive safety equipment is another issue where the domestic Camry is inferior to most of the above-mentioned imported competitors, especially in terms of airbags for the driver and rear seats.
Cost of use
Camry 2.4G has a fuel consumption of about 11-12L/100km on mixed roads and can be more depending on the driver and traffic conditions. The cost of replacing genuine Toyota Camry parts is actually not cheap if it is related to the steering system and chassis for cars that have traveled quite a lot.
The rest of the small spare parts are also affordable such as front bumper 2.9 million VND, rear bumper 2.7 million VND, headlights about 6 million VND, air conditioner condenser 3.5 million VND,...
For a car that has run nearly 80,000km, buying it back will risk incurring costs to replace valuable spare parts.
Conclude
The Toyota Camry is a pretty average car in its segment and is quite economical to use. However, the cost of ownership, even a used car, is high compared to its real value.
In fact, with the amount of 720 million VND (the transaction price of a used Camry), smart consumers can find cars with lower prices but possibly younger models.
On the other hand, if anyone understands the value of German cars, it is easy to find a higher class in the Mercedes-Benz C class or BMW 320i, the same 2008 model as the Camry but can be priced significantly lower.
In fact, concerns about German car parts have been greatly reduced as there are more and more sources of supply with extremely competitive prices./.
