(Baonghean.vn) – By the end of 2015, Nghe An province had more than 110 thousand Internet subscribers, mainly concentrated in large cities such as Vinh City or Cua Lo Town.

According to statistics of the Department of Information and Communications, from 2005 to present, the number of Internet subscriptions in Nghe An province in general and in the whole country in particular has increased.Vinh city in particular has continuously increased. From 1,598 subscribers in 2005, it increased to 111,688 subscribers by the end of 2015, of which Vinh city alone had 14,000 subscribers.

The total number of Internet subscribers in the province does not include subscribers accessing via 3G network. That is not to mention the fact that some households divide their subscriptions through their own Wifi transmitters.

Given the current growth rate and to stimulate tourism development, some people think that Vinh City and Cua Lo Town should deploy a free wireless internet system like many other cities (both central and provincial levels) have deployed such as Da Nang, Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang,...

Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue, Hoi An,... tourist cities across the country are all covered with free wifi.

This is a proposal worth considering as Vinh is not a large city, with only 25 wards and communes with a population of about 300,000 people. In addition, Vinh residents often live concentrated in the inner city. As for Cua Lo, the use of free Wifi will be one of the plus points for the coastal tourist urban area that has long been famous in Nghe An and the North Central region. Of course, the current state of infrastructure, the efficiency brought to the economy - society and capital are issues that need to be considered if we want to discuss further the feasibility of this proposal.
