North Korean leader's aunt may have committed suicide

Voice of Russia and South Korean media reported on January 6 that Kim Kyong Hui, the aunt of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, may no longer be alive.

The last time people saw Kim Kyong Hui was more than 3 months ago, at the concert celebrating the 65th anniversary of the founding of North Korea on September 10 last year, where she was present with her nephew Kim Jong-un and his wife.

Since the execution of her husband, Jang Song Thaek, Kim Kyong Hui's name has only appeared once on the list of people participating in the funeral committee when a senior leader of the Workers' Party of Korea passed away.

However, Ms. Kim Kyong Hui was not present at the memorial service for the second anniversary of the death of her brother Kim Jong-il.

According to some sources, Kim Kyong Hui may have committed suicide or died of a heart attack after Jang's execution.
