The final match of the Guri three-cushion carom billiards world cup took place on the afternoon of September 4. Tran Quyet Chien could not continue to cause surprises, losing to Jeremy Bury 30-40 after 20 strokes. As the runner-up, the Vietnamese player received the Silver Cup and a prize of 3,900 USD. In addition, Chien also received 320 million VND from the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Ho Chi Minh City management unit.
Tran Quyet Chien had to pay his own way to compete in Korea. He did not go straight to the official competition round, but had to start from the preliminary round. However, the Vietnamese player caused a big surprise when he continuously defeated stronger opponents, including Dick Jasper in the semi-finals.
Jasper is the nemesis of Vietnamese players. Before the semi-final, this Dutch player confidently declared that he would reach the final, because "I have met Vietnamese opponents many times and have never lost". At the recent World Cup held in Ho Chi Minh City, this "old fox" player also defeated four players of the host country.
