Trump's security adviser resigns
White House national security adviser Michael Flynn has resigned over his ties to Russia.
Flynn, a retired US Army general, is accused of discussing US sanctions with the Russian ambassador before President Trump took office. He reportedly lied to authorities about the conversation.

Previously, the US press reported that last month, the US Department of Justice warned the White House about the connections between Flynn and Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak. They also said he could be vulnerable to "blackmail" from Russia.
Several senior Democrats have also called on the Trump administration to fire Mr. Flynn.
US law prohibits private citizens from conducting national diplomacy, and Flynn's calls to the Russian ambassador took place late last year, before he was appointed by the Trump administration.
In his resignation letter, Flynn said he "negligently informed the Vice President-elect and others of incomplete information about his phone calls with the Russian ambassador," the BBC reported.
A White House statement announced that General Joseph Keith Kellogg had been appointed to temporarily replace Mr Flynn.
