"I can confirm that I will be coming to India on August 23," Sartaj Aziz said at a press conference.
At the security meeting, the two countries' security advisers are expected to discuss cross-border terrorist activities, Pakistan's release on bail of Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi - the alleged mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks - and other security issues of mutual concern.
Last month, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in the Russian city of Ufa, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart agreed to restart talks on bilateral issues. The two sides also agreed to reduce tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Kashmir region. However, a series of military attacks and border clashes have continued, increasing tensions between the two countries.
