Me Tri green rice festival
On the morning of October 2, at the National Exhibition Palace of Architecture and Construction Planning (Hanoi), the 2016 Me Tri Green Rice Culture Festival took place, attracting thousands of people to visit and enjoy.

Besides enjoying dishes made from Me Tri green rice such as fresh green rice, green rice mixed with coconut, green rice sticky rice, green rice sweet soup, green rice sausage, green rice cake, green rice wine, etc., people can also witness the process of making clean green rice.
In addition, the exhibition of photos and tools for making green rice flakes through the ages also brings a rural space on the outskirts of Hanoi that attracts visitors, especially children.

Mr. Tran Thanh Long, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, said that Me Tri green rice flakes are an elegant gift, a specialty for people far away to remember Hanoi.
The Me Tri Com Cultural Festival is a practical cultural activity to promote and publicize the land and people of Me Tri, gradually turning Me Tri Com Village into a destination in the cultural tourism program of the craft villages of the capital Hanoi. Attending the festival very early, Mrs. Tran Thi Kim Thoa (87 years old, Hanoi), shared: “I was born in Hanoi, I have eaten Com since I was a child so I really like this dish. The old Com grains are thin, green and delicious. Now coming to this festival, I want to find memories of the place where I was born and raised”.

The most important step in making green rice flakes is roasting the green rice flakes. Mr. Nguyen Huu Tri, in Me Tri village, said that a batch of roasted green rice flakes takes nearly an hour, and must be roasted over medium heat to make the freshest green rice flakes. Ms. Do Thi Lanh, whose family has been making green rice flakes for four generations in Me Tri village, said that the craft of making green rice flakes was passed down from her ancestors, and her descendants have continued to do so. “We are very happy to see that the green rice flakes are well received by the people,” Ms. Lanh said.
