Attending the meeting of the "Shield" club in Hong Dien village, Don Phuc commune, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of the women in this mountainous village, we can see the significance of the club's activities. According to the plan, the meeting would start at 8pm, but from 7:30pm, the women did not mind the cold and rainy weather, gathering together at the village chief's house. After stabilizing the organization, Ms. Ngo Thi Lan reviewed the unfortunate events that had happened to the women in the village in the past. Among them, there were cases such as: Ngan Thi Ung was tricked and sold to China in 2010, and was able to escape back to Vietnam at the beginning of this year. Recently, the Nam Dinh Provincial Police arrested 3 women working as prostitutes, all 3 of whom were from Hong Dien village...

Through the above events, in addition to sharing and reminding the sisters to encourage and help each specific case after returning to the locality, Ms. Lan once again reminded the sisters not to listen to the enticements of bad guys, considering this as a lesson for themselves to avoid falling into similar situations. Next, in addition to the "homegrown" performances performed by the sisters in the village, Ms. Lan also incorporated propaganda on the Law on Prevention of Trafficking in Women and Children... To make it easier for the sisters to remember, she applied the knowledge she had read, watched in books, newspapers, and on television to give examples of the tricks and tricks that bad guys often use to entice women and girls. In less than 2 hours, basic information was conveyed to the sisters, everyone seemed to understand the nature of human trafficking. Ms. Lang Thi Huong, Hong Dien village, Don Phuc commune, said that ethnic minority women rarely go to school, they spend all day working in the fields, stuck with production work, so they do not understand anything about the law, especially the issue of human trafficking, knowledge about gender equality, about domestic violence... By participating in the "Shield" Club, women have learned many things, so as not to violate the law, not to be deceived by bad people.

In Con Cuong, not only Hong Dien village and Don Phuc commune have maintained effective activities to propagate the law, but many communes and villages in the area have their own ways of propaganda. For example, Thach Ngan commune, one of the hot spots of Con Cuong regarding domestic violence, in addition to propagating to help women know how to prevent it, the Women's Union also organizes the setting up of complaint boxes. By this form, many acts of violence have been condemned. Ms. Ha Thi Phan, President of the Women's Union of Thach Ngan commune, said: Recently, Thach Ngan commune coordinated with the Women's Union and the District Police to organize the opening of crime complaint boxes in Ke Gia and Ke Trai villages, collecting 76 petitions, after classification and verification, 39/76 petitions were related to domestic violence. In addition to calling, questioning, propaganda and education, these 39 people have been gathered to establish a Domestic Violence Prevention Club right in the locality. From being the subjects of questioning, they have now become people doing propaganda work on preventing domestic violence, participating in activities with women.

Still feeling ashamed of his previous behavior, Mr. VVK, Ke Gia village, said: “In the past, I often drank alcohol, so I often quarreled with my wife and children, sometimes beating my wife so badly that she had to be hospitalized. Since I received education and became a member of the Domestic Violence Prevention Club, things have changed for my family. Now, I have quit drinking and no longer have the thoughtless behavior I had before. Moreover, I and my brothers in the Club have also promoted and reconciled many couples who were at risk of breaking up due to domestic violence.”

In order for the dissemination and education of law in Don Phuc, Thach Ngan and many other localities to be maintained regularly, continuously and effectively, the Women's Union at all levels in the district has regularly organized training courses, meetings, seminars, thematic talks, cultural exchanges, discussions, club activities, etc. The Women's Union of Con Cuong district also coordinated with the Provincial Legal Aid Center to organize many legal aid and legal propaganda sessions for women members, especially ethnic minority women. The Women's Union at all levels in the district also coordinated with the District Council for Legal Education and Dissemination and the communes and towns to organize many propaganda sessions on the Law on Marriage and Family; the Land Law, the Law on Prevention of Domestic Violence; Law on Gender Equality, Law on Road Traffic Safety, Law on Forest Protection and Development, Population Ordinance... The district's associations also pay great attention to building, expanding and improving the quality of club models, such as: "Domestic Violence Prevention" Club, "Shield" Club, "Legal Aid", "Women with the Law", "Women Against Social Evils" Club....

Talking to us, Ms. La Thi Ha, President of the Con Cuong District Women's Union, said: Only by learning and equipping ourselves with legal knowledge can we understand and properly implement the law. Therefore, women's unions at all levels in the district pay special attention to the task of improving legal knowledge for women members, especially women from ethnic minorities and remote areas. This will be the goal and direction of activities in the coming time of the unions at all levels, with the goal of reducing domestic violence, reducing children of members and women who violate the law and are involved in social evils.
