Con Cuong: In the early spring planting season

(Baonghean.vn) - In many communes of the mountainous district of Con Cuong, the happy days of Tet have come to an end. The warm weather is favorable for the growth of rice seedlings, and in all areas where rice is grown, the atmosphere of early year production is bustling.

For many years now, the crop calendar has been strictly followed by farmers, so productivity has always been stable. The 2013 summer-autumn crop has also been successfully implemented in many communes in Con Cuong. The implementation of the summer-autumn crop has made farmers very excited because it has avoided floods and productivity has been improved.

From the 3rd day of Tet, farmers in Nam Dinh, Trung Dinh, Lien Dinh villages (Chi Khe) were excited to go to the fields to prepare for spring planting. After more than a week, the entire area in Tong Chai field had been planted. In Mon Son commune (the large rice granary of the whole district), according to our records, most of the rice fields in Khe Lo and Thai Son 2 villages had been planted.

According to the people in Thai Son 2 village (Mon Son commune), in the previous crop, some rice fields were damaged by crabs. In this spring crop, people have proactively sprayed pesticides to prevent pests. In Chi Khe commune, some areas lacked irrigation water but this has been overcome thanks to people proactively dredging ditches.
