"Golden pig" accompanies Nghe An farmers

(Baonghean) - Operating since 2005, Nghe An Golden Pig Animal Feed Factory in the Southeast Economic Zone is the first factory of VIC Group (Hai Phong). After 9 years of operation, the factory has actively contributed to the development of the livestock industry in Nghe An. We were present at the Golden Pig Animal Feed Factory in Nghe An (Southeast Economic Zone) in the early days of Spring At Mui 2015, the production atmosphere was bustling with a series of trucks carrying raw materials such as cassava, corn... being arranged by workers in the warehouse. The product packaging process was carried out urgently. Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Factory Director said: To ensure product quality, the factory always has to purchase the best quality raw materials, not moldy and must be preserved in a specialized warehouse...

Con Heo Vang Animal Feed Factory in Nghe An has a production scale of 20,000 tons/year, but up to now, it has only exploited the capacity of over 10,000 tons of animal feed; of which, mixed products reached 6.6 thousand tons, accounting for 66% of total output, concentrated products accounted for 33.38%. Over 80% of the products are consumed in Nghe An, the rest are sold to Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue. In 2014, although it was a year with relatively good output, the factory has not exploited its full capacity, and this requires the factory to have strategies to expand the market.

With efforts in production and consumption of products, total revenue from sales and service provision in 2014 reached 128,382 million VND, an increase of 5,221 million VND compared to 2013, with a profit of over 3,717 million VND. To share with farmers, under the direction of the corporation, the factory in Nghe An has regularly supplemented sales policies through increasing discounts, increasing promotions, and selling at reduced prices...

In recent years, through monitoring, the factory's leaders have noticed that the livestock industry is developing on a family scale, with a tendency to use a lot of mixed feed. With the motto "hoping that farmers make a profit", along with the Con Heo Vang concentrated feed brand, the factory has built a model and recommended that farmers use about 30% concentrated feed combined with 70% feed from farmers' available raw materials for fermentation processing. This solution not only helps farmers make a profit, but also promotes the advantages of concentrated feed used for livestock farming and, most importantly, produces delicious livestock meat products (mainly pigs).

In 2014, the Golden Pig Animal Feed Factory in Nghe An cooperated with the research team of the Nghe An Department of Science and Technology to build a livestock model for households using local products such as corn, cassava, potatoes, etc. fermented and mixed with concentrated feed for pigs. Mr. Nguyen Duc Luong in Thanh Ngoc commune (Thanh Chuong) said that he used 50% fresh cassava plus 50% corn flour mixed with Golden Pig concentrated feed. The results showed that the cost of feed for weight gain was 1 kg, equivalent to 17,500 VND/kg, while the lowest price of live pigs was 40,000 VND/kg. If raised using this method, Nghe An farmers could save tens of billions of VND in livestock costs each year.

Engineer Nguyen Van Thang, Director of the Con Heo Vang Animal Feed Factory, excitedly shared: “Our production and market sales target for 2015 compared to 2014 is to strive to increase by about 3,000 tons of products. We promote cooperation between farmers - scientists - factories in applying technical advances in agriculture such as fermented corn flour, cassava, rice, bran... Accordingly, the method of soaking liquid yeast in cereals is considered a solution to limit the use of mixed industrial feed, farmers can take advantage of locally produced feed, only using about 30% of concentrated animal feed; at the same time, the factory builds safe pig farming models associated with the use of the above animal feed in many localities for farmers to apply, in order to create pork products with delicious meat, high price, and at the same time reduce farming costs. The factory also continues to do well in marketing and sales and promotional policies to consolidate, develop and Expanding the market, accompanying farmers to increase livestock value...".
