'Family-bred' Ha An Huy is predicted to win Vietnam Idol 2023

Born into a family with an artistic tradition, Ha An Huy is expected by many audiences to be a strong candidate for the title of Champion of "Vietnam Idol 2023".

Ha An Huy was born in 2002 in Hanoi, is a young freelance singer, currently a student of the Faculty of Applied Music at Thang Long University. After intense rounds, Vietnam Idol 2023 has selected 5 excellent faces for the final round, in which Ha An Huy is highly appreciated for maintaining his form from the beginning of the competition.

In liveshow 5, Ha An Huy delivered a well-rounded performance with the song 'Forget Me'. The contestant won over the judges with his technique and powerful voice. An Huy once performed the song 'Like You Too Much', causing My Tam to exclaim "I like you a lot" and comment that she had nothing to comment on.

The Hanoi-born singer was born into a family with an artistic tradition. His maternal grandmother is Meritorious Artist Thuy Mo - former Deputy Director of Hai Duong Cheo Theater, and his mother is Meritorious Artist Minh Phuong, currently working at the Voice of Vietnam Radio Station. Since childhood, Ha An Huy followed his mother to perform and record, so he was absorbed in Cheo melodies. With his own personality, he wanted to break away from the family tradition. His family did not prevent him from choosing to pursue pop music instead of traditional music, but let him decide for himself. However, he affirmed that his love for Cheo art is always in his heart, nurturing his musical dream.

In the Audition round, Ha An Huy performed his self-composed song 'Roi' and received a Golden ticket from the judges, moving on to the Theater round. "When I received the Golden ticket, I was happy to be given this opportunity and this will be a special gift that I dedicate to my family. Family is a special connection that brought me to art. Since I was little, I followed my mother to the stage when I went to work, so I was exposed to and imbued with music," Ha An Huy confided.

To pursue his passion, Ha An Huy moved to Ho Chi Minh City to live and build his career. Before Vietnam Idol 2023, the 21-year-old singer was the champion of the program Big Song Big Deal - Best Song 2022. Returning to a new music playground, An Huy wants to challenge himself, prove his ability, and seek greater opportunities.

After the competition nights, Ha Anh Huy entered the final top 5 of Vietnam Idol. However, judge Huy Tuan commented that An Huy was still safe and had not really broken through. The male singer said that he always listened and accepted comments. “For me, safety here is about emotions. I think if I have “safety”, I am confident in my performance, confident in my song,” An Huy shared.

Ha An Huy said that at first, there was a bit of pressure because there were many strong opponents, plus he had to show his own color to match the criteria and win over the audience. To him, every contestant in the top 7 was a formidable opponent, each with their own strengths. He regretted that this journey was about to end.

“I will try my best on the Vietnam Idol stage no matter what the result is… Besides, I set a bigger goal for myself after the show because I realize that everyone's love is the driving force for development. After finishing this journey, I will have many music products to send to the audience, and I hope to be well received by the audience,” the male singer confided.
