Son-in-law pours pesticide down the well to 'poison' his wife's family

On October 1, the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Province completed the investigation conclusion, transferred the case file to the People's Procuracy of Phu Tho Province, and proposed to prosecute Phuong for the crime.killing.

The story happened nearly 3 months ago, but every time she remembers it, Ms. Dinh Thi Hong Tuoi (registered residence in Chieng area, Dich Qua commune, Thanh Son district, Phu Tho province) still shudders with fear.

Mrs. Tuoi recounted: Due to her unfortunate fate, her daughter, Dinh Thi Xiem (born in 1995, also residing in Thanh Son district), had not yet been married despite having been through several husbands. Therefore, when Xiem got married and had her first son, Nguyen Xuan Phuong (born in 1989, residing in Phu Tho province), Mrs. Tuoi and her family were both happy and sad, hoping that her son would soon settle down. But once again, her hope was dashed.

The experimental method is the act of "poisoning" the wife's family.

After getting married, Phuong and her husband moved in with Phuong's parents, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, in Zone 4, Thanh Uyen Commune, Tam Nong District, Phu Tho Province.

In May 2019, when their son Nguyen Quang Khai was born, Phuong and Tuoi had a conflict. After the arguments, Xiem moved back to live with Mrs. Tuoi. Each time, Phuong came to reconcile, but after a short time, they had another conflict...

According to Ms. Tuoi, the conflict between Xiem and Phuong reached its peak around May 2020. Ms. Xiem returned to Ms. Tuoi's house and worked as a construction worker, leaving Khai in the care of Phuong's family.

On July 24, as usual, Ms. Tuoi opened her well for daily use and discovered a strange smell. Being alert, she reported the incident to the police.

By professional measures, Phu Tho police identified the perpetrator as Phuong.

At the investigation agency, Phuong confessed that the motive for the crime was because after giving birth to Khai, Ms. Dinh Thi Xiem did not raise the child and went back to Ms. Tuoi's house.

During her visits to her mother-in-law's house, Phuong learned that Mrs. Tuoi's family used water for daily activities and drinking from a well at home, so Phuong decided to take revenge by pouring water on her.herbicidedown the well of Mrs. Tuoi's house.

In mid-July 2020, Phuong went to Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district (Phu Tho) to buy 2 bottles of herbicide, 80ml/bottle, for 24,000 VND.

At around 8:40 p.m. on July 24, the subject drove a motorbike to Ms. Tuoi's house, but the whole family was still awake, so they went into a cafe to wait.

At around 11pm, Phuong climbed over the wall into Mrs. Tuoi's house and poured pesticide down the well.

On July 26, Phuong brought a plastic bag containing two empty bottles of weed killer to Phong Chau bridge in Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district, Phu Tho province and threw it into the Red River. On July 28, 2020, the Institute of Criminal Science of the Ministry of Public Security issued a conclusion of the forensic examination No. 4947/C09-P4 concluding that the water sample collected from the well of Ms. Dinh Thi Hong Tuoi's house sent for examination contained Acetochlor.

Nguyen Xuan Phuong's behavior violates the crime of "Murder", with the sentencing circumstance being "By a method capable of causing the death of many people" as prescribed in Point 1, Clause 1, Article 123 of the 2015 Penal Code.
