Previously, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ha Tinh province reported that Ky Anh Urban Environment Company did not have a license and did not have the function of handling hazardous industrial waste, but still signed a contract to transport and treat sludge with Formosa Ha Tinh Company.
The authorities also determined that Formosa Ha Tinh Company signed a contract to transport and treat sludge with a unit that did not have the function of treating it, which is a violation of environmental protection laws. On the other hand, according to the contract signed between the two parties, Formosa Company must inspect and supervise the location where Ky Anh Urban Environment Company treats sludge, but Formosa Company did not do so.
