Announcing 4 sculptures of famous Vietnamese generals
On the morning of February 11, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Military History Museum coordinated with the Vietnam Historical Association, the Hanoi UNESCO Association, the Heritage Assembly Hall and the Circle Group to hold a ceremony to announce sculptures of famous Vietnamese generals.
The sculptures of famous Vietnamese generals introduced are: Vietnamese national duke Ly Thuong Kiet, Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue and General Vo Nguyen Giap.
These are 4 famous generals selected from thousands of famous generals of the nation to create works of art, with the desire to introduce to the public applied art products containing cultural values and heritage of the country. At the same time, the sculpture project also aims to honor heroes and famous people in history, bringing people closer, understanding better and being more proud of the achievements of their ancestors in the process of building the country.
Mr. Duong Trung Quoc - General Secretary of the Vietnam Historical Association said: "The question that we have been wondering for a long time is whether the youth will turn their backs on history? Today, we want to introduce to the audience the achievements of the youth. You yourself have raised the question: how can historical values be brought into life with modern languages, with closeness to modern life? The four statues are the first products that are very encouraging."
The sculptures of famous generals published this time were made by authors from Circle Group, an organization operating in the field of investment and development of applied arts with many members from the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, Vietnam Association of Architects, etc.
After the announcement ceremony, the sculptures of famous Vietnamese generals will be displayed at the Vietnam Military History Museum until February 24.
