Announcing the book series History of Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon (January 2), the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee, and the Department of Science and Technology held a ceremony to announce the book series History of Nghe An from the beginning to 2005. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; To Hong Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In the history of building, defending and developing the country of our people, Nghe An is known as an old land, rich in revolutionary tradition. History has proven that it is no coincidence that this land is the place where many patriotic movements started, the cradle of birth and nurturing many talents for the country. In many different aspects and perspectives, research on the land and people of Nghe An has become an attractive topic, attracting many scholars at home and abroad. However, compared to its tradition and cultural history, there has not been a comprehensive, worthy research work, summarizing the entire history of the land and people of Nghe An.

In response to that request, after 4 years of diligent research, under the close guidance of the Steering Committee for Research, Compilation and Publishing of Nghe An History, at the end of 2012, the book series "History of Nghe An from the beginning to 2005" was completed and published by the National Political Publishing House. The book series is a valuable scientific product contributing to the development of science, technology, economy and society of the province. The book series is divided into 2 volumes. Volume 1: History of Nghe An from the beginning to the August Revolution of 1945; Volume 2: History of Nghe An from 1945 to 2005, edited by Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Van Thuc.

The Nghe An History Book Project has gathered many scientists inside and outside the province and central agencies to participate in the implementation. The author and his colleagues have conducted fieldwork, shared experiences, and worked with most districts, towns, and cities in the province, and many provinces and cities across the country, with researchers and museums abroad. This is also the largest scientific project ever invested in and implemented by the province. The birth of the Nghe An History book series, with elaborate research, reflecting all areas of social life, will help readers have a comprehensive view of the history of the birth, struggle, construction and development of the land and people of Nghe An.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong emphasized: The book series "History of Nghe An from the beginning to 2015" is the first scientific work to systematically research the history, culture and people of Nghe An from prehistoric times to the present day. The value and significance of the book series, first of all, is to provide generations of Nghe An people with knowledge and pride in the historical process of their homeland. From there, it contributes to educating the traditions and sense of responsibility of each person in the process of building and developing Nghe An homeland to become increasingly prosperous.
