Announcing the program "Olympia for secondary school students"
The program is for students aged 11-14, is a useful playground, discovering many excellent students.
On the morning of September 18, in Hanoi, the Department of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Training and LG Electronics Vietnam Company (LGEVN) held a press conference to announce the program "Olympia for secondary school students". This is a new knowledge playground for students from 11 to 14 years old.
The program “Olympia for secondary school students” is conducted in the form of a game show. Accordingly, each game show has 3 teams participating in the competition and the teams answer questions related to the knowledge content of the secondary school program and social knowledge appropriate to their age.
The 3 best teams after passing the Qualifying Round, Regional Round and competing in the National Final Round of the program.
Press conference to introduce the program
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Doan Van Ninh, Deputy Director of the Department of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Training emphasized: Continuing the program for high school students that has been organized for the past 13 years, the program is a useful playground, discovering more excellent students. The program actively contributes to training teamwork skills, team spirit and developing real capacity for each student.
In the first year of the pilot program, the “Olympia for Secondary School Students” program will be held with the participation of representatives from 18 provinces and cities nationwide, spanning the three regions of the North, Central and South. These are the provinces: Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An (North); Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong (Central); Binh Duong, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Vung Tau (South).
The special thing is that the program will be held right at the school yard of one of the units registered to participate in the program. After the first series of programs in 2012, the Organizing Committee will study and evaluate the effectiveness of the program to decide whether to continue organizing it in the following years.
The first year of the “Olympia for Secondary School Students” program will begin in October 2012 and end in April 2013, before the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
Through the program “Olympia for Secondary School Students”, LGEVN Company awarded 72 scholarships to 18 Secondary Schools representing 18 provinces and cities participating in the program. These scholarships will be especially awarded to poor students with Good, Excellent or above academic performance, to encourage them to strive to achieve higher results in the following semesters./.
