Announcement of Detailed Planning of Dong Hoi Port Area (Quynh Luu - Nghe An)
(Baonghean) -On the morning of July 26, in Quynh Lap commune - Quynh Luu (Nghe An), the Management Board of Dong Nam Economic Zone organized the announcement of the detailed planning of Dong Hoi port area, Quynh Luu district.
According to the approval decision No. 838 dated April 28, 2011 of the Ministry of Transport, Dong Hoi Port Area, Quynh Luu District (Nghe An) is located in the planning of seaport group No. 2, with an area of nearly 1,100 hectares, including land and water areas. Of which, the land planning area is more than 540 hectares and the water planning area is more than 556 hectares. The north of the port borders the border between Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces, the east borders the East Sea, the south reaches Dau Rong Cape and the west borders Dong Hoi Industrial Park.
This is a specialized seaport serving the import and export needs of goods for thermal power plants, steel plants, and construction materials in Dong Hoi Industrial Park and neighboring areas. It is expected that by 2015, the port will receive ships up to 30 DWT and by 2020, ships from 30,000 - 50,000 DWT. The total investment capital for construction of project items is estimated at about 16,555 billion VND, mobilized from the investor of Dong Hoi Industrial Park and enterprises operating in the Industrial Park. Of which, the investment until 2015 is about 10,574 billion VND.
Dong Hoi port area will be divided into 4 functional areas: thermal power plant port, steel plant port, cement port, construction materials port and other functional areas. The budget for the cement port area alone accounts for the largest part, with nearly 8,000 billion VND.
