Announcement of the Planning of Dien Bien Phu - Pa Khoang National Tourist Area

Dien Bien Phu National Tourist Area is expected to develop an area of ​​2,500 hectares in Dien Bien Phu city, Pa Khoang and Muong Phang communes.

On the evening of March 13, Dien Bien province held a ceremony to announce the Master Plan for the development of Dien Bien Phu - Pa Khoang National Tourist Area and to open the 2016 Ban Flower Festival. Attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Head of the Northwest Steering Committee; leaders of central ministries, branches, and localities in the Northwest region; representatives of leaders of northern provinces, Lao PDR, and a large number of people and tourists.

The master plan for the development of Dien Bien Phu - Pa Khoang National Tourist Area, Dien Bien province was approved by the Prime Minister on August 24, 2015. This tourist area is located in Dien Bien Phu city and 2 communes of Pa Khoang and Muong Phang, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province, in which the area of ​​the tourist area expected to develop into a national tourist area is 2,500 hectares.

In addition, the planning research scope also includes nearby tourist attractions such as: Hua Pe hot spring (Thanh Luong commune, Dien Bien district); Ban Phu citadel and Hoang Cong Chat temple (Noong Het commune, Dien Bien district); U Va hot mineral water (Noong Luong commune) and Pa Thom cave (Pa Thom commune, Dien Bien district); Tay Trang border gate (Na U commune, Dien Bien district) and Muong Luan ancient tower (Muong Luan commune, Dien Bien Dong district).

The approved master plan for the development of Dien Bien Phu - Pa Khoang National Tourist Area is the legal basis and an important orientation for Dien Bien province to organize implementation in order to exploit the potential and advantages of the province's tourism resources.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc warmly praised the efforts and great achievements of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Dien Bien province in recent years. At the same time, he emphasized that with the pride of being the land associated with the famous Dien Bien Phu victory, Dien Bien needs to promote the potential and strengths of the province to continue developing the socio-economy, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, gradually improving the lives of the people; in which, focusing on promoting the strengths of tourism.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the master plan for the development of Dien Bien Phu - Pa Khoang national tourist area until 2020, with a vision to 2030, approved by the Prime Minister, is an important orientation for Dien Bien province to develop tourism in the coming time.

“Dien Bien province needs to actively implement the contents of the planning, closely coordinate with the ministries and central branches; mobilize maximum social resources to invest in infrastructure development, develop tourism products, and soon ensure the criteria of a national tourist area. Focus on promoting the exploitation of the historical value of the tourist complex, the national historical relic, especially the Dien Bien Phu battlefield, to create differences and characteristics, contributing to building the brand of the tourist area associated with educating the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroes, and national pride in generations of Vietnamese people,” Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized.

The opening art program of the Hoa Ban Festival with the theme "Returning to the Hoa Ban land".

After the announcement ceremony of the Master Plan for the development of Dien Bien Phu - Pa Khoang National Tourist Area, there was an art program to open the Hoa Ban Festival with the theme "Coming to the Hoa Ban land". The program had the participation of hundreds of artists and actors from the Hoa Ban Trang Art Troupe, Son La Provincial Art Troupe, Dien Bien Pedagogical College, Brigade 82, Military Region II and Dien Bien Provincial Children's House.
