(Baonghean) - This afternoon, December 29, in Vinh city, the Ministry of Construction coordinated with the People's Committees of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces to organize the Ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's Decision approving the Construction Planning of the Southern Nghe An - Northern Ha Tinh region until 2025.

Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Dinh Toan - Deputy Minister of Construction; representatives of the Government Office; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee; representatives of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee.

The South Nghe An - North Ha Tinh region was approved by the Prime Minister for planning under Decision 2082, dated November 21, 2008, including: Vinh city, Cua Lo town, districts: Nghi Loc, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong of Nghe An province; Hong Linh town, districts: Nghi Xuan, Duc Tho, Huong Son of Ha Tinh province. The planning region has a total natural area of ​​about 3,648 km2.^2., in which the scale of urban construction land and non-urban functional areas by 2025 is about 30 thousand hectares; the scale of rural residential construction land by 2025 is about 14 thousand hectares. The forecast population by 2025 is about 1.5 million people, of which the urban population is more than 600 thousand people.

This is a comprehensive economic zone that plays a driving role in the North Central region with key economic sectors developing in the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh; plays an important role in security and defense of the region and the country; is a hub for trade of goods and services of the North Central region, a gateway connecting to international markets in the region. This is also a region with many historical and cultural relics associated with national cultural celebrities, with scenic spots that need to be preserved, exploited, serving tourism and socio-economic development of the region.

At the announcement ceremony, the leaders of the Ministry of Construction handed over the planning project documents to Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces as a basis for implementing the planning to ensure scale and progress.
